TCN in the USA!

// 20 June 2023 //

After several months of preparation, TCN has just finalized its first partnership in the USA, with Oryx Additive.
Oryx Additive is an American advanced manufacturing equipment development and manufacturing company.
It provides solutions in a number of additive manufacturing sectors, including consumer products, design and engineering, automotive, aerospace and medical.

This partnership brings together two entities that have built up customer loyalty over many decades, a guarantee of expertise and reliability.
ORYX Additive was a spin-off business from PADT, Inc. an engineering solution company specializing in simulation consulting, product design services and 3D printing product and services established in 1994. And, TCN has just celebrated its 60th anniversary.
This partnership brings together two entities that have built up customer loyalty over many decades, a guarantee of expertise and reliability.

TCN’s GTC and GTD ranges, which are dedicated to coloring 3D plastic parts, will now be delivered to our American customers from the USA.

As a first step in this cooperation, Oryx and TCN exhibited at TCT Chicago in May 2023.
This trade show specializes in additive manufacturing and is one of the most influential in the field across the Atlantic.
It was an opportunity for Oryx and TCN to meet customers and prospects and demonstrate the many benefits of their solutions for coloring plastic parts produced by 3D printing.

During this session at TCT Chicago, we handed out samples of our GTC and GTD ranges to our visitors.
Following the tests they were able to carry out using these samples, their feedback was very positive.

The main advantages mentioned by our American customers and prospects who need to color their 3D parts are :

  • A uniform, non-superficial result. In fact, our colors penetrate everywhere, thanks to their application processes and liquid formats. This is the opposite of manual spray application,
  • The result is also repeatable as long as the parameters are constant: temperature, agitation, mixing ratio, etc.
  • Compatible with all technologies: MJF, but also SLS, SLA and FDM…
  • Standard colors as well as an infinite number of possible shades, either by mixing the shades together or using our on-demand colour service,
  • Resistant to UV exposure, sweat and skin contact,
  • Quick and easy to use.

Our coloring process for all types of polymer therefore offers multiple advantages, according to feedback from our American customers and prospects.
What’s more, this solution is easy to access, as it doesn’t require significant investment in equipment that can sometimes be cumbersome.

As a result, the cost of coloring your additive manufacturing parts made from polyamide, PA1, PA12, polyurethane, elastomer, acrylic, polyester, TPU, PEEK, ABS, PEI, etc. is reduced.

A few months earlier, we had also attended the Amug Conference in Chicago.
As you no doubt know, Amug is a global community whose aim is to accelerate progress in additive manufacturing and 3D printing.
The participants, 3D printing professionals from the aerospace industry and additive manufacturing professionals from the automotive industry, discovered TCN’s new solution for dyeing their plastic parts.
TCN’s dyeing process by dipping won over the CEOs, production operators, engineers, project managers and plant managers in attendance.

However, the orthopedic orthosis, prosthesis, sports and fashion industries are also increasingly interested in our dyeing solution.
These industries are particularly enthusiastic about our GTD range.
In fact, this range is dedicated to parts that come into contact with the skin or require UV protection.

Oryx and TCN hope to see many of you at one of these key additive manufacturing events in the USA!
